MIKE DYSON - DAN AIR REMEMBERED

Go to content

Captain Mike Dyson is from a military background having been a squadron leader on the RAF Nimrod. After leaving the RAF aged 39 Captain Dyson was offered a position with Dan Air on the 727 fleet. He gives the reason for not flying on the Comet as Dan Air was full of ex RAF people on the Comet already. However he was delighted to be offered the 727 and worked from January 1978 until 1980. He then rejoined the company in 1985 until 1987. After the company's takeover Captain Dyson went to have a further career including working with Air Wales until it too buckled under pressure. Since then he is now the Training Manager At Oxford Aviation Academy. Today, aged 75 he is still actively flying and loving every minute of it. he is keen to send us some photographs and further memories.
